Daniel Barnes is a Sacramento-based film critic, journalist, copywriter and podcaster. A member of the San Francisco Bay Area Film Critics Circle since 2014, Daniel is also the creator and co-host of the Dare Daniel, Canon Fodder and Single Take podcasts. He lives in Sacramento with his wife, Darcey.
His work has appeared in Sacramento News & Review, Comstock’s Magazine, Sacramento Bee, East Bay Express, Colorado Springs Independent, San Antonio Current, Shepherd’s Express (Milwaukee), Philadelphia Inquirer, and many other print and digital publications across the country.
Daniel enjoys grilled meats, great coffee, better cocktails, old movies, classic funk and soul music, sports, long walks, literature, cats, dogs and long, pointless lists.
